                                                    Fight for Your Life

Some time ago, during a phone conversation with a relative who lives in Georgia, she shared something my late mother had once said about me regarding my commitment to living a healthy life.

The conversation went something like this:

My relative said, "Aunt Nunnie, Jean (that's my middle name) sure does look good for her age."

My mother replied, "You know she's not going down without a fight."

When my relative repeated those words to me, something ignited inside me. It was like a light bulb came on. I felt inspired because it's refreshing to hear how others perceive you—especially someone like my mother, who I considered a true General of Life.

She earned that title through 86 years of wisdom, faith, perseverance, and unwavering love for her family. She fought the good fight of faith not only for herself but also for those she loved.

Her words reminded me of a powerful truth: we must fight for the things that matter most in life.

I share this experience not to bring attention to myself, but to encourage and inspire you to continue fighting for your life—your purpose, your health, your family, and your freedom.

You've probably heard the saying, "Anything worth having is worth fighting for."

Before we go any further, let me explain what I mean by fight. I am not referring to violence, harsh words, or hurting others. The fight I'm talking about is one of determination, resilience, faith, and what I like to call "bulldog tenacity." It's the decision to refuse to quit on the things God has entrusted to you.

Fight for Your Health

Today we are surrounded by countless opinions about health and wellness, and it can feel overwhelming. My recommendation is simple:

Take care of the whole person—spirit, mind, and body.

True health comes from balance.

Feed your spirit with the Word of God.

Feed your mind with uplifting, positive thoughts, and avoid dwelling on negativity or surrounding yourself with people who constantly drain your joy.

Feed your body with wholesome, natural foods and engage in regular physical activity.

The greatest battle we fight often takes place between our ears. Many people lose the opportunity to live healthy, vibrant lives because of negative thinking.

Scripture reminds us:

"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he."

We must intentionally train our minds to think thoughts that produce life.

One of my favorite passages is found in Philippians 4:8:

"Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Fight for Your Loved Ones

As a wife, mother, and grandmother, I understand the importance of fighting for my family.

I pray for my loved ones daily and continue to fight the good fight of faith on their behalf. Sometimes the greatest battle we fight isn't against circumstances—it's standing beside those we love until they find victory.

The Bible reminds us:

"One can put a thousand to flight, but two can put ten thousand to flight."

Never underestimate the power of praying together, standing together, and loving one another.

Sometimes fighting for your loved ones simply means reminding them they are loved—even when they don't know how to return that love.

Love still conquers all.

Fight for Your Freedom

Only you can fight for the life God has called you to live.

Don't allow anyone to limit your potential, silence your voice, or convince you that your dreams are impossible.

Freedom is one of God's greatest gifts, and refusing to fight for it is like giving up on life before your heart stops beating.

Never surrender your God-given right to become the very best version of yourself.

You are only as free as you are willing to fight to be.

Our nation's founding document declares:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Even greater than political freedom is spiritual freedom.

Jesus said:

"Whom the Son sets free is free indeed."

Fight for that freedom every single day.

Final Thoughts

Life will challenge you. It will test your faith, your courage, your health, and your dreams.

But don't surrender.

Fight for your health.

Fight for your faith.

Fight for your family.

Fight for your purpose.

Fight for your freedom.

As my mother wisely said about me, I hope one day others can say about each of us:

"They're not going down without a fight."

May you continue to live with courage, faith, perseverance, and unwavering hope.

Fight the good fight—and win.
